What’s a fantasy or desire you have for your children? How is this impacting the way you parent and how your children unfold?
As parents we inevitably have desires and fantasies for our children (e.g. we want to expose them to the best activities, we want to allow them to travel the world and we want them to try new things), often pushing us parents to push our children. So how can we manage or mitigate this innate desire to push to expose our children for the very best, versus allowing our children to unfold and take on the lead so we can follow them to their highest calling? On this round table we would reflect and discuss about the effects that these two very different approaches have on our children. One comes from the parent's own pressure points that are felt within, to push their own sense of agendas, movies and scripts of what a life "well lived" is. And the other one requires patience and it has trust and full faith in the natural unfolding process that needs to occur for our children. Parents will walk away from this discussion with a good sense of the gaps between their fantasies and their realities, and with new ways to let these fantasies go to accept the child and their realities as they are.
