Mundos de Vida ® was founded on July 29, 1984. Twelve years ago, they launched the country’s first specialized foster care service, called Procuram-se Abraços ® which supports more than 600 children. Their focus is helping children to grow up in a safe and positive family environment. To date, more than 130 children have been fostered in eleven municipalities in Braga and Porto. November 20th is National Pajama Day, children all over Portugal are invited to go to school wearing pajamas to remind us that "every child has the right to grow up in a healthy and happy family", and that the government has a responsibility to help reduce the number of institutionalized children.
ELC and Elementary Pajama Day November 20th
All ELC and Elementary School students are welcome to come to school in their jammies on November 20th and support this initiative. All donations will help Mundos de Vida to continue to find safe and happy homes for children. Students will take home a flyer and a cardboard moneybox. They can build the moneybox and bring it back to school with a donation, and hand it back to their teacher.
Upper School will celebrate this initiative November 29th
Upper School students will celebrate this day on Free Dress Friday with a charitable donation.
No matter how big or small, every amount collectively makes a big difference.
