Any shoebox or amazon style box will work. Just make sure your box isn’t too big so when a child opens their box, it doesn’t feel empty.
Supermarkets or shoe shops may have empty boxes to give away. Stores like Auchan, Continente, Hyper shops and others also sell colored / decorated boxes if you don’t have time to decorate your own box.
Get your kids to decorate the box with paintings, stickers or cutouts. They can also make a Christmas card if they like. Wrap the box with festive paper - make sure the lid and box are wrapped separately so the boxes can be opened and checked. This is a Charity requirement - all boxes must be checked before giving these to the children.
All Items need to be new or in excellent condition.
Each box must include the 4Ws and be age/ gender appropriate.

Stick a label on the front with the following info
• Age – Gender the box was prepared for, e.g. 16yrs Girl
• Optional – First name only & class of child(ren) it’s from e.g. Nikolas -4A
Secure the lid with an elastic band.
Shoeboxes can be decorated or wrapped. The lid needs to be wrapped separately so that it can be opened for checking. Every box needs to be labelled on the front narrow side with gender and age the box was created for (16yrs-Girl) – make sure the label is secure.
Individual items in the box must not be wrapped
• All items must be new or in excellent condition.
• Make sure the items are age appropriate for the child you are buying for
Optional
• Label can include the first name only and class of the respective child(ren) that the box is from
• Can include a Christmas card
DO NOT include these items in your Shoebox/es:
• NO FOOD ITEMS including any candy or chocolates even if its sealed
• Medicine or vitamins of any kind.
• Violence-related items like toy guns or knives.
• Anything of a political, religious, sexual or racial nature. (e.g. a T-shirt with a political statement or inappropriate messages)
