Join us for our parent roundtable series!
This session is intended for parents of children in grades 1-3. For information on our session for parents of grades 4-5, click here.
These roundtable discussions are intended to give parents of similarly-aged children a chance to gather as a community, share stories, build skills, and discuss challenges or issues that may be coming up as we speak to our kids about personal and social health (PSH.)*
Each roundtable will be moderated and facilited by two TASIS parents equipped with deep professional expertise in PSH topics, as well as professional expertise in parent-child communication.
* These roundtables are not intended to be a discussion about the PSH curriculum. As parents, we are not part of curriculum decisions. However, a TASIS team member will be in attendence for any case-specific questions on curriculum that may arise.
Meet the Moderators:
Dana Hovig (TASIS parent, grades 8 and 10)
Dana has worked in leadership positions in several international non-governmental organizations that implemented programs focused on reproductive health, family planning, HIV/AIDs prevention, and maternal and child health in Africa, Latin America, Asia, and East Europe.
These programs often focused on adolescent and young adult health and well-being. Dana also also worked at the Gates Foundation and Hewlett Foundation, leading teams that made grants to promote greater gender equality, women’s economic empowerment, and reproductive health. He began his career in the Peace Corps in Togo, West Africa working with women’s self-help groups.
Patricia Diaz Kismarton (TASIS parent, grades 7 and 9)
Patricia is the founder of Branch Out Coaching (www.branchout.life) and her mission is to help every child stay true to their essence. She does this by partnering with parents that want to embrace parenthood as a fertile ground for personal growth, maturity and as integral to enabling healthy and vibrant humans within the family context and beyond. She also coaches young adults and women entering new and unique life stages, so they stay connected to their truest selves and act with intention to unlock their maximum creative potential.
Patricia is a certified coach with Invite Change and holds the ACC (Associate Certified Coach) credentials with the International Coaching Federation (ICF). She’s also a Certified Conscious Parenting Coach from Dr. Shefali’s Conscious Parenting Coaching Institute.
