Join us for our parent roundtable series!
This session is intended for parents of children in GRADES 4-5. For information on our session for parents of grades 1-3, click here.
These roundtable discussions are intended to give parents of similarly-aged children a chance to gather as a community, share stories, build skills, and discuss challenges or issues that may be coming up as we speak to our kids about personal and social health (PSH.)*
Each roundtable will be moderated and facilited by two TASIS parents equipped with deep professional expertise in PSH topics, as well as professional expertise in parent-child communication.
* These roundtables are not intended to be a discussion about the PSH curriculum. As parents, we are not part of curriculum decisions. However, a TASIS team member will be in attendence for any case-specific questions on curriculum that may arise.
Meet the Moderators:
Melissa Higbe (TASIS parent, grade 1 and PK1)
Melissa has 20 years of experience in applying commercial marketing approaches to public health challenges – including HIV/AIDS, Malaria, and access to reproductive health services, focused on African markets. Melissa builds diverse teams of public health experts,
behavioral scientists, researchers, parents, adolescents, and community leaders to better understand the emotional drivers of healthy behavior and how to apply these insights to program designs. Melissa has spent most of the last 15 years living in East Africa before moving to Portugal in 2022.
Patricia Diaz Kismarton (TASIS parent, grades 7 and 9)
