"I loved this enchanting evening of fado music and socializing in the intimate setting of Amanda & Greg's quinta. The musical performances were exquisite, especially the Portuguese traditional guitar." - Anna C., TASIS parent
Join us at a real "Casa Portuguesa" (old Portuguese farmhouse) for an evening of fado music. Poetry set to music, fado is the most famous genre of Portuguese traditional music, sometimes invoking "saudade" for lost loves and other times merrily celebrating (or lamenting!) daily life.
Our friendly band of fadistas--fado singers and guitarists-- will explain the songs in English. The audience is even encouraged to sing along on some choruses. This is a more welcoming introduction to fado than you will see in Lisbon.
Wine and non-alcoholic drinks fresh from the farm will be served. The house version of caldo verde --the ubiquitous Portuguese soup-- will also be on offer, and it is the best caldo verde we've ever tried.
To RSVP, fill out the form at the "Tell me more" link above. If you have questions, contact Amanda at +351 935 451 806.
